Kenzie Settelmeyer Head Coach

I have been swimming my entire life, it is the greatest passion I have known.

I placed very well throughout highschool and during my collegiate swimming at Oregon State University, and with that experience, I am able to help swimmers navigate their nerves at all levels of competition.

I look forward to helping guide swimmers as they grow in our program, potentially leading up to helping those looking to swim in college, as I am very familiar with the recruitment process and know I will be a good resource.

Coaching to me is more than just a job. Coaching is something I look forward to doing everyday and I love making practice something that the kids look forward to as well. There are so many duties that a coach carries; a coach is a mentor, a friend, a resource, a trainor, a counselor, and an inspiration to their athletes. I love guiding each athlete and helping them reach their highest potential, regardless of what that may be.

Not every swimmer is college bound, and I strongly believe that doesn’t make them less deserving of feedback and attention. I love giving kids tools to create their own success, that they can continue using beyond their swimming years. I was taught many valuable lessons throughout my swimming career, however, I’m also aware of what was missing for myself as an athlete growing up and navigating my swimming career, and that’s why I take so much pride in my coaching style today. It’s not about the garbage miles or how many yards you can fit into a practice; it’s the confidence and life skills you instill in each individual, the acute attention to detail, and stroke correction that will provide the most positive results.

I love encouraging kids to explore and try different things while they are growing up, I do not believe that takes away from their training and potential success in swimming.

Attendance is of importance to me, but so is a healthy, balanced childhood.

Our vision statement reads: We are a family, pursuing life skills, through fun and fast swimming.

My coaching philosophy is to generate more than just great swimmers, I strive to create good humans who will have the
confidence to carry themselves gracefully into adulthood by creating a safe environment that is captivating to athletes, encouraging their longevity in the sport.
